Food Chains

Every living thing needs energy in order to live. Every time animals do something, such as run or jump, they use energy. Animals get energy from the food they eat. All living things get energy from food. Energy is necessary for living things to grow.
A food chain shows how each living thing gets food, and how energy is passed from creature to creature. Food chains begin with plant life and end with animal life. Some animals eat plants. They are called herbivores. Some animals eat other animals. They are called carnivores.
We worked together in groups to create food chains.
