Ancient Egypt

We chose Ancient Egypt as our last Aistear topic for Junior Infants. We built a pyramid and the Sphinx for our role play area. Ms. Fahy brought in clothes, scarves, sheets and jewellery for us to dress up as Pharaohs, mummies and tourists. We used our imaginations to create stories about life in ancient and modern day Egypt. In the construction area we tried to build pyramids and cities. We wrote our names in hieroglyphics. In the writing area there were lots of writing frames for us to write information about Egypt. We are super writer. We wrote about pyramids, Tutankamun, the Sphinx and the river Nile. We know lots of information about ancient Egypt, it is a very interesting topic.
