Volcano Experiment with Sixth Class
We had so much fun in science class on Friday. The 6th class children invited us to their room and we talked about volcanoes. We know that there is magma under the earth's crust and it travels up through the vent in the volcano. When the volcano erupts lava comes out. Mrs. Treacy's class taught us that when vinegar and baking soda are mixed, a chemical reaction takes place. We went outside and we set up our volcano experiments. We got vinegar, baking soda and red food colouring. We also added water and Fairy liquid and we were amazed when our volcanoes erupted! Thank you to Ms. Treacy and her wonderful class for building amazing volcanoes, towns and islands (and naming them after us) and for being so kind and patient with us. We loved working with them.
