Week 2: 18th-22nd January 2021

Hello everyone,

Myself and Caroline are missing all the lovely happy faces that greet us every morning in school so we thought the children would like to see a photo of their friends 😊

If you find that school work is too hard on any given day please close the books and just forget about it.
As previously mentioned the importance of play cannot be overestimated. Free play (unstructured and child- initiated) and social play (e.g. board games) are invaluable for children in infant classes.

I'm available on Seesaw or on emerf@stoliverplunkettns.com so don't hesitate to get in touch.
Have a lovely week.
Emer

Find objects around the house that are heavy and light. Can you find things that are heavier/ lighter than your pencil case? Put two objects in your child’s hands- which one is heavier/lighter?

There is also a lovely video as Gaeilge from Caroline on Seesaw for you all today.

Optional Activity: RTÉ Art competition: Follow this link if you would like to enter an art competition. Entries must be submitted (by emailing a photo) by Sunday 31st January.

We do lots of work on our gross motor skills in Junior Infants. This week I’ll post an idea each day for developing these skills. However do not feel under pressure to complete these- if your child is running around playing/jumping on their trampoline/etc they are developing these skills already.

Dino Stomp (the children enjoy this dance in school):
