We finished the Road to Tokyo challenge on Thursday so we decided to celebrate with our very own Junior Infants Olympics today.
We painted the Japanese and Olympic flags in the morning for our opening ceremony.
Our amazing athletes took part in lots of events including:
Running, relay, shot putt, discus, long jump, gymnastics, high jump and triathlon. As we couldn’t cycle or swim we decided our triathlon would consist of hurdles, horse riding (using pool noodles) and pistol shooting (inspired by Modern Pentathlete Sive Brassil). We also played an All Ireland hurling final too!
We held our closing ceremony and medal presentation in the classroom in the afternoon.
