It’s been a busy week in Juniors. We celebrated Science Week with lots of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities and experiments.
On Monday we read Rosie Revere, Engineer. Then we worked in teams to design and build structures using lollipop sticks, blocks and cups.
On Tuesday we discovered what happens to the fat in milk when washing up liquid is added. We also had great fun walking on balloons.
On Wednesday we read Iggy Peck, Architect and built shapes and structures using spaghetti and marshmallows.
On Thursday we created some lovely puffy art. We mixed flour, baking powder, salt, water and food colouring to make paint. Next we put our paintings in the microwave for 20 seconds to create puffy pictures.
(We also created cool
marbling pictures. I’ll put photos of the finished art on the blog next week.)
