Book Week, our new class caterpillars and our latest project

Take a look at what we’ve been up to this week in Junior Infants.

- We have new class caterpillars and have been watching them grow bigger each day. We took a class vote and have named our caterpillars:
Dermot Kennedy
Dermot Walsh
Shane Walsh
Flower
Bunny Hop
We think they’ll form a chrysalis soon and are excited to see the butterflies emerge.
-In literacy we’ve been busy with Literacy Lift Off- everyone is enjoying reading lots of new books and are also making great progress with their writing.
- In maths we’re working on our numbers up to 10. This week we started using number lines and worked on counting forwards and backwards along the number line.
- We are taking part in a fun programme called the  Big Friendly Guide to the European Union. This week we learned what the EU is and also worked in groups to paint EU flags.
- Friday was Book Day. Everyone looked super dressed up as characters from their favourite books. We illustrated books about our characters in the morning, had a hurling session after break and enjoyed a music lesson with Colm in the afternoon.
