Baking and Science

We have started baking in Junior Infants. Our Science topic in May was Materials. We used baking to explore the effects of heat on materials and substances such as chocolate and cake mixtures. So far we have made rice krispie buns and fairy cakes. We know how important it is to wash our hands before baking. We also know how to be safe when we are baking. The best part is eating what we have made.
