Monday 22nd - Friday 26th June

To our wonderful Junior and Senior Infants,
Thank you for a fantastic year. We are so proud of you. We hope you all have a super summer.
See you in September.
Love from Ms. Fahy and Máire

As it's the last week of school I'm not suggesting work, instead here's some ideas for different theme days that you might enjoy.

Movie Day
  • Set up a home cinema, including a stand where children can 'purchase' snacks with coins before the movie.
  • Write a review of your favourite movie (Senior Infants).
  • Recreate a scene from your favourite movie.
  • Listen to and respond to a piece of music from a film and draw what you think the movie is about.
  • Design a movie poster.
  • Watch and respond to videos on The Literacy Shed https://www.literacyshed.com/home.html

Book Day
  • Design a book mark.
  • Design a new cover for your favourite book.
  • Draw your favourite book character.
  • Make up/ write a story with your favourite toy or teddy as the main character.
  • Have some cosy reading time with a teddy, pet or family member.

Nature Day
  • Have a picnic.
  • Search for each colour of the rainbow in your garden or local area.
  • Plant some flowers.
  • Paint a picture of the scenery outside.
  • Learn about some local plants and animals.
  • Go on a nature walk and draw pictures of the things you find.

Cookery Day
  • Bake and decorate a cake or some buns.
  • Make fruit faces.
  • Draw/ write a menu of all your favourite foods.
  • Set up the kitchen/ dining room as a pretend restaurant for the afternoon.
  • Create a piece of art inspired by foods you like (or don't like!).

Challenge Day
Outdoor Art Day

We usually finish the year with a talent show, Teddy Bear's picnic and a party. I'd love to see videos of talents or photos from picnics if you'd like to share them on Seesaw.

Have a fantastic summer.
