Monday 11th - Friday 15th May

Oral Language:
Use your imagination to create a short story using this story starter.

Enter a first name and click K-1st. Click the SPIN lever on the right. Keep spinning until you find an idea you like.
Here are some examples
- Make up a story about a rude princess who grows carrots the size of tree.
- Tell a make believe story about a happy elf who lives in a flower.
- Tell a bedtime story about a smart prince whose uncle is a fish.

You don't need to write anything, just tell someone in your family the story. Or you can share your story on Seesaw, I'd love to hear them.

2- Half a heart will not do, draw a line and that makes 2.
3- Half a head and body you see, that's how you make the number 3.
4- Clever 4 looks like a L but draw a line and you can tell.

History
This is a time we will never forget.
I know some of you have made your own time capsules or purchased them in Lidl. This is a nice activity for children to complete. It also gives them an opportunity to reflect on how they are feeling at this time.
Thanks to Sandra for sending it on.

Science- Pushes and Pulls
Push and pull are forces that change the way an object moves. It might make them go faster, go slower or stop them.

Push and Pull are opposite forces, meaning they move objects in different directions.

Push moves things further away

Pull brings them closer.

Get a toy car.

What happens when you push a toy car as gently as you can?

What happens when you push the toy car as hard as you can?

Look at your own toys. Do you push them or pull them or both to make them work?

If you need some help look at this:

Can you sort your toys into a group you push and a group you pull? You might have some that you can push or pull.

Here's some ideas of things you push and pull.
