Continue to work on tricky words (juniors) and dolch words (seniors) that have been sent home.
Tricky Word Parking Game:
Using a large piece of paper and some markers, draw parking spaces and label each space with a different tricky word. Give your child some toy cars and call out a word. Your child should park the car in the correct space.

Toss the Balloon
Write some tricky words on a balloon. Every time you catch the balloon read one tricky word (a different word each time).

Encourage independent writing.
Ask your child to write 5 sentences on this picture using the words at the bottom to help them. This is in Jolly Phonics Book 2 (purple) so your child should be able to do it by themselves.
My Best Dinner (page 18 of Jolly Phonics Book 3)
Talk to your child about the best dinner they've ever had. Use our 'wh' questions.
Who made it?
What was it?
When did they eat it? (maybe it was Christmas dinner or a special occasion or maybe every dinner Mum/Dad makes is the best)
Where did they eat it? (in a hotel, at Nana's house, etc)

Questions:
1. Find the objects that roll. Colour them.
2. Find the objects that do not roll. Colour them.
3. Look at the children beside the ladder. Is there 1 ladder for each child?
4. Is there a bucket for each spade? Is there a nest for each bird? Is there a hula-hoop for each child?
5. Find 2 children with 1 book. Do they have a book each?
6. Look at the children eating fruit. How many children are eating apples? How many are eating bananas? Are there more children eating apples?
7. Find the children who are dressing up. How many are wearing hats? How many are wearing scarves? Are there more wearing hats?
8. Look at the children playing in the sand pit. How many have a spade? How many have a bucket? Are there more with spades? Are there more with buckets?
