Week 4 and our Junior Infant Photoshoot 😊

This week we changed our Aistear areas-our role play area is now a vet surgery, the sand has become a zoo and our small world area is a farm.
The children are working together to plan their play.

In literacy we are still working on rhyming words and sequencing stories. This week we also started working on procedures, we are using Pie Corbett’s Talk for Writing actions. (I will add pictures of the actions we use next week.) On Friday we made Rice Krispie buns as we knew the procedure to make them.

In maths we continued sorting objects and working with 3D shapes - this week we used spheres and cuboids.

In science we named the parts of the body, we also started learning some of the words as Gaeilge.

We read the story Don’t Hog the Hedge, learned about squirrels and made some lovely squirrel pictures.

We have been learning about different trees and Ms. Fahy brought in horse chestnut, sycamore and oak leaves for us to see. In an art lesson we used the leaves for printing.

In religion lessons we have been talking about our families.

We were asked to send a class photo to Athenry News and Views so we took some nice class photos this week.
